Does host respect guest with oplocks disabled?

My Paradox app requires both server and workstation opportunistic locking to be disabled in the lanmanserver section of the registry.  That's quite a performance hit for everything else on the file server.

On Samba servers, you can disable oplocks by share.  In Windows, the whole server must have oplocks disabled.

If I create a guest Win2k3 server inside a host Win2k3 server and disable oplocks on the guest, what happens?  How does VMware handle the host's locks on the vm's disk files?
