kswapd process is taking up 98% CPU utilization when backing up host OS using FDR backup software. This has caused slow performance on the all client OS.
I have talked to VMWare support and they told me that there was a bug with kswapd process and to run this command to fix it:
echo 100 > /proc/sys/vm/inactive_clean_percent
The command did help by not allowing kswapd to reach 98% to 100% utilization, but the client OS still experience a major slow performance and in most cases, packets will be dropped causing our monitoring system to see the client OS as being down.
How could I complete the backup without causing a major performance issue?
