How to merge the new disk space as original virtual disk?

Hello,

My VMware GSX 3.2 server is running out of disk space, so I have assign more disk space from my HOST machine by the following steps:

1) select "VM" in the menu of VMware Virtual Machine Console

2) choose "settings", then press "add" to launch the "Add Hardware Wizard" and the follow the instruction

3) boot up the virtual window and use windows disk manager to format the hard disk

and it comes up with 2 questions:

1) how come there is 20.4MB missing in my newly created disk?

2) is there any internal command to merge the disk space together, instead of individual disk?

   so that it becomes a one 10 GB disk instead of 6GB + 2GB + 2GB virtual disks.
