Windows 2003 DC FSMO clock running slow

Host = Ubuntu Dapper 2.6.15-23-server

Guest1 = Windows 2003 R1 running DC and FSMO roles

Guest2 = Windows XP SP2

After reading all info regarding slow guests, I'm still having trouble with my Guest1.  If left idling, it advances about 15 seconds per minute.  Since this is the PDC emulator, it is also the authorative time server for my domain, thus reverting some computers in time (Oracle + SAP R/3 + negative time = BAD!)

If I run anything that loads the server, time "speeds up" until time = correct.

My second guest (win XP) hums along happy, and time is right up to the second (even with time service off)

Seems the last things causing this could be...

A) Ubuntu server interrupt too low - what is standard for ubuntu server, how can I change it to 1000 (never compiled a kernel myself...)

B) Windows 2003 somehow uses multimedia timer and the clock slows.

C) My current kernel's got issues?

D) Hyperthreading

Please please[/b] help me out of this mess, would love to hear from anyone with a slow running windows guest (until cpu loaded)

I'm willing to go through the hassle of compiling a kernel if I really need to, just need directions...

Thanks!
