How to limit CPU Usage on VMWARE-VMX

Hey, I'm  a linux n00b, so I'm wondering how I can limit the CPU usage of ALL THE VMS combined.

So just limit vmware-vmx, I know you can't do CPU usage per VM. But in general for VMWare VMX. I have a dual opteron 244 and all it does is LAGG IT.
