We just installed a virtual machine which uses a canon optical jukebox via generic scsi.
On the host the jukebox is accessible via /dev/sg6 /dev/sg7 and /dev/sg8 (medium changer and two disks).
The two disks are also accessible as block devices /dev/sdg and /dev/sdh.
The guest should have exclusive control over the jukebox.
When I do an fdisk -l on the host the system does a read access on the optical disks and disturbs the
guest operation.
The application works ok otherwise.
How can I stop the host from read access to these disks?
Any hint will be appreciated.
The system is:
VMware: GSX 3.1
Host: SuSE Linux 9.1 on DELL Poweredge 4600
Guest: Windows 2000 Server
