Completely remove VMWARE server (linux)

I am running into several issues that I believe will be cleared up after an uninstall. I want to delete every trace of vmware on my system, I am running Ubuntu 6.06

I tried vmware-install.pl to uninstall, however, it hangs when trying to stop one of my virtual machines, which I never got to work in the first place:

A previous installation of VMware software has been detected.

The previous installation was made by the tar installer (version 3).

Keeping the tar3 installer database format.

Uninstalling the tar installation of VMware Server.

Stopping internet superserver: xinetd.

Starting internet superserver: xinetd.

Stopping VMware virtual machines...

/code

So I'm thinking my only option here may be to remove everything associated with VMWARE and start from scratch, but I don't know what or where everything was installed to? Is there a directory structure documented somewhere that lists all the files and directories that are installed so I can remove them?
