Problem creating VM from Quick Restore CD

I would like to create a Windows XP Professional virtual machine from my machine's quick restore CD and then wipe my hard drive, make some flavor of Linux my host operating system instead, and then run Windows XP only as a virtual machine. I created a virtual machine and booted to the quick restore CD but it won't run because it says that I am not restoring it to the same type of computer.  My computer is an HP Pavillion A1050Y. 

Is there any way to make the empty virtual machine look like a HP A1050Y so my quick restore will work?
