I'm using vmware server (build 23869) on Ubuntu linux, using Gnome as my desktop environment. I have my desktop running in that well known resolution of 1400x1050 (1600x1200 was just too small on my monitor, and 1280x1024 not big enough for multiple terminal windows or to view a vmware desktop within a window.)
If I put a vmware session (running at 1152x864) into full screen, the monitor switches to that resolution fine. When I escape out of fullscreen though, the display stays at 1152x864, but with the correct sized desktop so I can scroll around.
I've just checked and it doesn't do this if I start out at 1600x1200 - it resets the display back to the original resolution correctly when I exit.
Not sure if this is a bug, that only restores certain resolutions rather than the previous state, or whether it's to do with not having 1400x1050 in the xorg.conf - I'm assuming that Gnome can tell the X server to change resolutions directly - it is anyway!
Has anyone else seen this or is it just something weird with my setup?
Steve.
