We checked for Using Oracle Cluster Filesystem 2 (ocfs2-1.2) as base for our little VMware Server \*testing* farm for which we do not want to use ESX Server.
Creating VMs on ususal filesystems (ext3 and xfs used) was ok -- like working mwith GSX Server 3.2. While creating VMs on an ofcs2 Volume I had to wait for a long time after every step. A look in my VM directory show me a file called vmBigFileTest0. I guess the purpose of this -- to check the filesystem wether it can handle files larger than 2GB. At our iSCSI based "poor mans SAN" this behaviour is knocking out our machines...
Is there a switch somewhere in the configuration to prevent VMware Server from this test? I know, ocfs2 can handle files larger than 2GB and want to tell this knowledge to the VMware Server only once.
Thanx for your help, answers,.. Moritz
