Here is what I want to do.
I need to set-up a vitual domain complete with RIS server. This is for my MCP training. I have tried the following configurations and nothing seems to work. My RIS server within the domain needs to be running active directory, DNS and DHCP it is running all three. My problem is that bridged network, vmet1 or vmet8 does not work. My Windows XP PRO virtual machine does not see the DHCP server (Server 2003) so I cannot connect to it to do a remote (network) install. My router in my home network is 192.168.1.1 as the gateway address. I have assigned my virtual server an IP 192.168.1.65 approperaite subnet 255.255.255.0 and the gateway of 192.168.1.1. I am using the DNS numbers from my router as the DNS numbers withing the virtual server and my windows XP virtual machine is using DHCP so that the RIS server will hand out it's IP address via the DHCP server it's running.
Any suggestions as to how this can work?
