I am trying to set up Network Load Balancing on Virtual Server and 3 guests all running Windows 2003 std and am not having any success. I can add 1 server to the cluster...any one of the three, it doesn't matter which one I set up first. But when I try to add the second and third, the only nic that shows as being available in the nlb manager is the nic that I am using for back-end nlb communication which is the wrong one for this scenerio. It should be able to connect to the main front-end nic as that is the one that it needs to configure. If I skip using the nlb manager and try to set up nlb directly on the other guests and join the cluster already created, the guest instantly loses its connection to the world. Disabling nlb again on the front-end nic allows the connection to work again. I know that nlb has to do some advanced changes to the nic and that some nics don't support those features so I am now wondering if anyone can lend some insight into vmware server's capability for nlb and if that is the problem I am running into.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Calvin
