vpn routing to vmware image

Hi,

I have a problem with my network settings..

This is my network setup:

CLIENT -> (VPN) -> SERVER -> VMWARE IMAGE

When the vpn connection is made, the client can ping the server. Also the server can ping the image.   BUT the client can not ping the image.

I'm not a network or vmware specialist.  Do I need to activate a VMware network adaptor? or enable NAT translation on the server?

I found that more people have trouble with this, but couldn't find the right answer.
