VMware Server roling back during installation.

KevinG,

After adding a Cisco VPN client to my HOST ( windows 2003 standard server)

I ended up with broken networking.

In the process to resolve the brokenness I removed among others vmware server.

Networking has been restored TCPIP reinstalled, and the other applications reloaded. However I can not re install VMware server.

at the end of the installation the wizard detected a problem and will roll back the installation. Short of re installing windows  have searched the forums and tried many suggestions.

I think the VPN client that I installed created an MTU of 1300 that stopped most of the networking. this was diagnosed way after removing all non essential programs from Windows.

Removed TCPIP and re installed TCPIP

Reinstalled Zonealarm

I can install the following vmware applications and remove them successfully.

-VMware player

-VMware importer

-VMware Workstation 5

Even after removal of the 3 applications I still get a wizard inturpted "rolling back" message when trying to install VMware Server.

The log file is so huge that I will only post a few lines of the log here in case there is a reference in it which someone may be able to spot as my problem.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.
