Good morning,
I use the VMware Server running on a Windows 2003 host and I am running two VMs using Windows XP Pro as guest os.
I have got two problems:
The host has got an IP-address and the two running VMs are configured to use NAT. I am not able to send a ping from the first to the second VM using the computer name. It always resolves the computer name to match the host IP-address. If I use the IP-address to send a ping between my VMs, it works fine.
As soon as I copy my VMs on another host system (Windows XP Pro using DHCP) I can use the computer names to access the VMs.
What do I have to do to use the computer names on my Windows 2003 server?
In one of my two VMs there is an application running using a web server and I would like to get access from each PC in our Intranet (opening a browser typing http://vm-name). Can I do it using NAT or what should I do to solve the problem? Up to now I can just access the VMs on my host system.
Thanks in advance
Christian
