CentOS Guest on CentOS Host does not shutdown properly

Hi,

I have a server with CentOS 4.3 as Host and as Guest (both with Kernel 2.6.9-34.0.2.EL).

I have installed VMware Tools on the Guest that starts at runlevel 3 (I don't need and I don't have installed any GUI).

Using VMware Server Console, I set on: Setting -> Startup /Shutdown Options -> On host shutdown: Shut down guest operating system; and in the Guest vmx file I have: autostop = "softpoweroff".

If I click on the Shut Down button of the VMware Server Console, the Guest goes to runlevel 0 without any problem (I think that means that the VMware Tools are correctly installed), but if I switch the Host to runlevel 6 the Guest is abruptly powered down.

There are two other Windows guests running on the server and they shut down correctly.

In the log file of the CentOS guest I found these lines:

Aug 01 22:25:08: vmx| VMXVmdbCbVmVmxExecState: Exec state change requested to state poweredOff without reset

Aug 01 22:25:08: vmx| DISKUTIL: scsi0:3 : toolsVersion = 6530

Any ideas?

TIA
