First of let me say say I am totally new to using VM's.
Host machine is Win xp Prof (fully updated)
VM server version exp 23869 on a LOCAL NETWORK (I am downloading RC1 at this moment)
VM's installed and working Windows 98se and Ubuntu 5.1(Linux)
VM Tools installed onto\into the Win98 VM but no matter what I do I cannot get VM tools to install into Ubuntu.
When I click to install them in Ubuntu it (VM) indicates that the tools are installing (the facillity to cancel instalation shows in the drop down list) but nothing happens. The maximum length of time I waited was just under half an hour to see if it would. So no VM Tools in Ubuntu.
I can open up and work within both these VM's and can connect to internet etc. BUT I cannot get either of them to allow COPY and PASTE (Ubuntu because I can not get tools installed) either to or from the host machine.
The allow copy and paste box is selected.
Also no sound but I can put up with that for the moment and will deal with it later.
