My old faithful Toshiba laptop, has always served me well. today it stopped accepting my type, and i have a message on starting; 'Ready for EC/KBC update place the EC/KBC diskette in the drive and press any key to continue.' I'd be delighted to learn what this means, and how to overcome this problem. someone recommended cleaning the keyboard i've done this but the computer is still frozen on start-up with the message instantly appearing.
