Hello,
I used to have a windows xp installed on my vmware under linux, and it ran with bridged networking to my main network. The problem is, I have updated my machine's kernel and vmware, and also changed my network (created some new subnets on it), and now my windows xp won't get an IP address from my dhcp at all. Actually, it can't communicate with the network even if I set the IP address manually.
Here is my network configuration:
-192.168.0.0/28 (netmask 255.255.255.240)
-dhcp, dns, samba and domain server: 192.168.0.1 (my machine)
-server OS: Ubuntu Linux 6.06
-the dhcp server is working for all other computers on the network
-I can log on the samba server using host-only networking
-bridged networking was working fine until recent changes
-vmware workstation version: 5.5.2 build-29772
Anyone has any clue as to what is happening? Thanks!
