Connection USB key dongle on Linux Host / Windows Guest

1. Hardware: i865 /video on board/ 1Gb RAM

2. Host OS is Mandriva Linux 2.6.12 (2006)

3. VMware Server 1.0 28343

4. Guest OS is Windows XP pro. sp2 (whitout any thirty software)

 

Step by step what i do:

1. Before start guest OS: connect USB key dongle into usb port. (Dongle name: Activ Co. Guardant Sealth II)

2. Type in linux console command: more /proc/bus/usb/devices and see in list

T:  Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#=  3 Spd=1.5 MxCh= 0

D:  Ver= 1.01 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs=  1

P:  Vendor=0a89 ProdID=0003 Rev= 1.00

S:  Manufacturer=Aktiv Co.

S:  Product=Guardant Stealth II

C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr= 56mA

I:  If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 0 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=usbfs

3. Ok - device connected succesfully. Start guest OS

4. Win XP guest config already usb controller on.

5. After guest OS start succesfully system - i'm click on VM menu > Removable devices > USB devices > Activ Co. Guardant Sealth II (port 1).

5. Then system show "new hardware found" dialog - but Windows inform to me, what hardware if unknow and can't installed. (pid:0000 vid:0000)

 

If i'm unplug usb key and insert again into same or another free usb port, usb dongle detect and works well.

How do works usb dongle for first time, when OS start.
