Test Server 1

3.0 Gig P4 Zeon X 4

16 gig ram

Raid 5, Scsi, 15k RPM 200Gig Harddrive X 4

Intel Cipset Network Cards (onboard) x 2  -- DELL INC. WW PCBA TEST

Card 1 = Intranet 10.10.0/24

Card 2 = Internet .*

Windows 2003 Ent (main server) DC, IIS, SQL, DNS

Windows 2003 Std (VMServer) RRAS, DHCP

Workstation 1 (Genaric Hardware)

Windows XP PRO

Workstation 2 ( Asuse Intell Chipsets )

Windows XP PRO

Starting with the Main Server

Card 1 Static IP 10.10.0.1 with MAC address 00-11-43-EB-D2-2F

After VMServer is installed it automaticly bridged to this interface.

and from this point on i get ARP Pakets sent out on the network saying

10.10.0.1 00-11-43-EB-D2-31

when it should be

10.10.0.1 00-00-43-EB-D2-2F

So now the work stations cannot comunicate with 10.10.0.1

Naturaly the Main Server can comunicate with itself on F2 and also to the workstations on 10.10.0.15 and 10.10.0.16

but the workstations cannot reply

Now I start VMServer (Windows 2003 Std) 2 Virtual Interfaces.

Interface 1   Bridged to Card 1 10.10.0.4

Interface 2   Bridged to Card 2 Static IP for the Internet

From Workstation I,

ping 10.10.0.1 it will recive the bad ARP paket saying 31, when its really at 2F.

it will still comunicate with 10.10.0.4

I added

arp -s 10.10.0.1 00-11-43-EB-D2-2F

to workstation 1

It now resumed comunication with the Main Server

I also could comunicate with 10.10.0.4 the virutal server.

Everything is working well with each other. But each time workstation reboots or repairs it has to automaticly add the static location of the correct mac address.

Anyone else have this issue?
