Clone a Solaris 10 VM

Host is Ubuntu - VMWare Server 1.0.1.

Guest is Solaris 10.

Guest works GREAT.

Shutdown the guest, copied the .vmdk, and tried to create a new VM pointing to the copy of the file.

Consistently get this error:

Failed to retrieve disk information for "/var/lib/vmware/Virtual Machines/clone_vm4/solaris_10_clone.vmdk":

The parent of this virtual disk could not be opened

I tried creating a snapshot and deleting the snapshot, then re-copying the .vmdk, but this error still occurs.

Any ideas?
