We're presently running VMWare Server RC2 on a Windows Server 2000 SP4 host. Whenever I start a VMWare Svr client (Windows Server 2003 SP1) on the host, the performance of the web sites hosted on the host machine goes to pot (either takes >15 seconds to respond, or times out).
It appears the HTTP requests are recieved by the TCP stack on the host machine (as seen by TCPView), but responses are never issued. I can't say for certian whether they're passed up to IIS, or what happens after that though (still some investigating to do there).
At the same time IIS stops responding to HTTP requests, CIFS response also gets extremely slow when connecting to the host machine....
Just wondering if anyone has seen anything similar to this when running VMWare Server?
