VMware Server (newest version) is installed on SUSE Linux 10.1 host. There are two virtual machines running on the host:
\- Windows Server 2003 Std.
\- Windows XP Prof.
Both virtual machines were first created on an ESX Server and afterwards I exported the harddisk files. There were no problems running the machines on the ESX hosts.
The Remote Console is installed on a Windows XP computer. I can connect to the VMware Server and create machines without any problems. When I switch to the console view on the virtual XP computer the console crashes. This error is created in vmware.log after the crash:
Jun 30 09:59:06: mks| SOCKET x recv error 104: Connection reset by peer
Jun 30 09:59:06: mks| SOCKET x destroying VNC backend on socket error: 104
(x) increases
There are no problems in the console view on the virtual W2k3 machine, but there's the same error in vmware.log
I connect to the VMware Server with a normal user, not with root. I created the machines with this user an the vmware-vmx process is started by this user.
On the VMware Server is no Remote Console installed (but I'm going to do that).
Some ideas for a solution?
