Hi Folks,
I am still having ongoing unexplained host crashes on the Linux server that hosts several Win2003 servers. This is despite having upgraded our Linux servers to a kernel (2.4.9-e57) which included a fix for an identified kernel panic problem with Linux/GSX.
The crashes appear to follow any full backup of our Exchange server. We use Veritas Netbackup 5, which is hosted on a separate server. Since it only seems to occur under these circumstances, I'm wondering if the volume of network traffic causes this problem.
Can anyone offer any advice. In the 16 months since moving to GSX on RHAS we've had no end of problems with these unexplained crashes. VMWare has some great features, but they don't matter much when you can't even keep the system stable.
Thanks,
Innes (NZ)
