Setup is starting windows hanging on Windows 2003R2 install

I have VMware server, latest load installed on a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise R2 with all updates.  Hardware is a Dell Poweredge 1400 with 1.2 G of memory and 80GB Sata drive. The base system works fine and the Vmware Server install went fine.

 

When I try to load W2003R2 Enterprise as a guest, the install goes fine until it tries to start windows, then it hangs. Sometimes, If I let it wait long enough, it will go on and load, but runs very slow.

 

I had this intalled on the same server with SCSI with with Ubuntu as the host and everything went fine. However, there are no Linux drivers for my SATA card (SIIG Sata II-150 PCI) that I can find so I need to go with Windows as the host.

 

CPU is idle at 98%, very low memory use and

 

Any ideas of suggestions would be appreciated.
